Please share your advice!
The UK’s Association for Language Learning is putting together advice for language teachers related to ways of teaching a language safely in the context of COVID-19. The actual practice of language teaching usually involves significant pair and group work with lots of talking/singing etc.
The International Federation of Language Teaching Associations (FIPLV) has asked us (SAALT) to ask teachers and teacher educators to share their ideas so that we could all benefit. I was thus wondering if any of you perhaps already had such guidelines, either official or generated by yourselves as language teachers/educators.
If you have something to share, even a one-line suggestion, please send it to me (rinelle.evans@up.ac.za)
In the meantime, I would also recommend that you take a look at the UNESCO pages on COVID-19 and Education (Education: From disruption to recovery), which you may wish to share with your members. They include a number of webinars.
FIPLV sends you all good wishes. Please stay safe and take good care of yourselves.
